Napa Valley 101: Tips to Planning a Summer Vacation
Napa Valley gets
pretty busy in the Summer. School is out, the weather is warmer, and
the leafy vines are looking gorgeous. Planning a trip to the Valley
during this time can get pretty stressful as the area starts filling
up fast. Whether you’re looking for wineries in Napa, Sonoma or
Healdsburg
wineries, consider a wine tour to take the pain off planning.
Now check out a
few of these tips for your Napa summer vacation worth checking out:
Mid-week over
weekend. Much less crowded and easier to find availability is
Sunday-Thursday. Sound about right? Then book your tour through
wineries in Napa or Healdsburg wineries!
Visit before
or after holidays. Yes everyone wants to come Labor Day weekend
but availability is limited and the prices are jacked way up. If you
can, visit the week before or after a holiday – these “off-weeks”
means less crowds and better prices.
Rise and
shine. Beat the crowds and start your day early. Head to tastings
early and don’t spend a minute in lines. Or join our tours through
wineries in Napa, Sonoma, and Healdsburg wineries and get that VIP
Platypus treatment at every tasting.
Flip it and Reverse it. Most tourists navigate the Valley by
starting in Napa and going north. Start in Calistoga and head south
to beat that Highway 29 traffic. Our North
Sonoma tours through Alexander Valley wineries, Healdsburg
wineries, and Russian River start you up north and away from the
crowds.
Change up your
dining time. Whether it’s an early breakfast, a late lunch, or
an early/late dinner, you’ll have less wait time at restaurants. So
change up when you eat for a shot at a table.
Book
everything in advance. Just plan way, way ahead. We’re talking
months when it comes to busy seasons. Hotels, tours, reservations –
all of it. It’s great to book Platypus wine tours in advance but
we’ll do our best to accommodate last minute adventures through
wineries in Napa, Sonoma wineries, and Healdsburg wineries!
